A Court of Thorns and Roses
By Sarah J. Maas
Book Rating: 3.5 out of 5 boozy stars
If you haven't heard of this series, then you must be living under a rock or in the farthest lands away from the mortal realm. That's where I was living while the rest of the world was reading this first book in the ACOTAR series by everyone's favorite author, Sarah J. Maas. To be honest, I was scared to start this series. I have always been intimidated by fantasy books due to the odd spellings on words and the intircate world building. When I finally picked up A Court of Thorns and Roses, it was because I had so many friends telling me to read it.
In my opinion, the novel started off slow with a few chapters that just seemed to drag before the story got exciting. It took me a while to get into the story and what was happening, but overall I enjoyed the book. The best part of the novel had to be the last hundred pages or so. Once I got to the ending, there was no longer any "slow" bits in the story. I remember reading the last few chapters at an excelerated speed because I just ahd to know what was going to happen to Feyre. I loved Maas' writing style and the wauy she described the Fae Realm of Prythian. She made me want to experience the Spring Court for myself, and I know I am not alone in saying that I fell in love with Tamlin in this novel.
For any readers who, like me, are intimidated by fantasy, I would say that this series is perfect for beginners to the genre. It's a good series to whet your appetite for fantasy and start transitioning into the fantasy novels that have even more in-depth world-building and even stranger name spellings (many from the same author).

I am not a Gin-drinker nor am I the type of person who really enjoys rose-flavoring, which is why this drink is rated low. I ultimately picked this drink to pair with this novel because
