Paired with The Golden Couple
I chose to pair this novel with a shimmery champagne drink, not only because of the title, but also because the novel focuses on the Bishops' and their marriage. They are a wealthy couple who own a lavish home and have high status jobs. Mathew is a partner in his company and Marissa own her own luxury store. Despite Marissa's infidelity, from the outside looking in, everything in the Bishop's life seems perfect. But not all that glitters is gold. Therefore the perfect drink for this novel is a sparkling champagne that can be enjoyed either while reading the book or at brunch with your book club while discussing the ending.
